This reminds me of Depardon's famous image of the man in great troubles hiding his head in his jacket. But the very proud and irreverent girl on the ad makes a big difference, increasing the feel of disconnection between the ideal world and the real one.

Great juxtaposition and you nailed the title.--Rene

Sometimes viewing the everyday world around us is just too painful - a landslide of woe that makes me want to hide under the covers.

Yes! I always wanted to make a bus stop picture of some kind, but never knew how to do it. This is good! The young, self-conscious woman looks down on the old man, who seems to want to shut himself off for the hard world, which is the woman's trusted environment.

If all I hold dissolves in despair, then who am I? Will my ink blur and fade like condensation upon a mirror, easily wiped away with one stroke. Am I no less and no more than a false veneer of paint, to be flecked away by the abrassive whim of circumstance? There is no reason for faith, only sour pleasure in a moment of flagrant tittilation.

As Sartre said, "Hell is other people".

Not only homeless, but confused. The evaporation of the head is quite expressive here, Kal. The context, meanwhlle is demanding and unforgiving.

She would make me depressed too. :-) Great shot.

Utter despondency and total vibrancy, what a contrast!

Who cares and who does not? Often an illusion.

A great/strong compostion as you know very well manage it..
I love the car's reflection in his body.. and that the girl is looking at us which put emphasis on our status of witness.
(Btw: good to see that in NZ they drink fruit-juice when they are down!;)
