Sidewalk ants only noticed because of their number and threading trail among the cracks.Mostly ignored,sometimes trampled.Yet perservering with their purpose, of a right to be among us.

One of your most effective social comments, Kal -- the white wall symbolizes the vacancy of authority. There is nobody there to see or hear this protest. The wall is overbearing, monumental in scale. The vast governmental apparatus of China can't be seen because it does not really care to listen to these people. Wonderful use of scale incongruity as symbolism.

What an interesting scene! Or, should I say "disinterested" scene. My favorite group are the people to the right. It's like they've just run out of things to say to one another. The blank wall behind them lends to the feeling of the photo. Really well spotted! (On a technical note, the photo seems a bit "soft" - what do yout think?)

Farmers, whose land has been taken away, and are unhappy about their compensation. In China, peaceful protest is allowed, in the from of these "sit-ins" (except where it casues international embarassment). They come back to this same place every year, during the October holiday....K

Brilliant composition!
The dissatisfaction is not really clear. They looked comfortable.

A superb minimalistic composition with the woman characters contrasting against the big wall. Not sure about the exact protest, they seemed quite comfortable in their won group and chairs. As if it's a tea corner for the ladies to gather and perhaps make little protest about their families, their children and their lives. Just my thought :-)
