You often use this gleaming symbol as an incongruous contrast to the worn and makeshift lodgings that remind us of what most of Shanghai really is all about. This is particularly effective because the old building in the foreground and those who use them are presented in such an abstract way.

Light is just fascinating here Kal. I especially love the lit tower, of course, but also this mysterious door.
