A wonderful portrait, Kal. From the toe sticking out of the sock to his triumphant affirmation of life, he is living history. The context is perfect -- the crutch, the Mao era clothing, the placement of the body against the white panel of the building, making him pop forward with immediacy and energy. I love your caption. It was my first thought when I saw this image. He has seen much, yet he seems ready to see more.
