The Tenth Corps was activated on May 15th, 1942, with
Headquarters at Camp Sherman, Texas, and embarked for the
Pacific Theater in July of 1944 after two changes of station
and participation in maneuvers in Louisiana and at the
California-Arizona maneuver area.

The shoulder patch worn by the X Corps was approved on August
19th, 1942, and consists of the Roman numeral "X" representing
the units designation with the colors blue and white suggesting
the colors of the Corps' distinguishing flag.
