I arrived at Airlie Beach from Townsville, expecting to have a bit of a party in the town that is famous for partying. In the event though I was unwell (had my first ever migraine here!), and not a drop of alcohol passed my lips!

Airlie is the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands, and many people go on sailing boats to experience them. I went on one five years ago when I was here, and fancied something different this time around, so went on a scenic flight over the islands and out to the reef.

I am currently still plagued with ear infections, though my perforated eardrum has healed, and am still unable to dive, so it was especially nice to get such a totally different perspective on the reef.
