This is the time of year in southeast Louisiana when the live oak trees (Quercus virginiana) are shedding their old leaves and putting on their new leaves simultaneously. We know that spring is very near when this occurs.
The owner lives in the house and the place is a working place, not just a symbol of the Old South, but of today's South as well.
