When we think of Leis and Hawaii we usually only think of floral leis. However, traditionally, kukui nuts, feathers, maile vines, and other materials have been used.
More recently, novel materials (e.g. ribbons, dollar bills, and satin) have been successfully used.
For those on a budget or are too harried to shop around, plastic fantasic ones are available.
What a great idea having a gallery all of leis, that wonderfully Hawaiian tradition. I bet most of us here on the continent have never seen so many different types! Really beautiful and interesting too! Good work.
Also thanks for your comment on my gallery!

Hi Selvin - Nice to "talk" to you again. Thanks for your comments; and I just love this gallery, especially the white feather lei. Very nice work. Bev
