Pa'u rider

The pa'u rider refers to style of horseback riding practiced by women in Hawaii from historical times.
Unlike western style during that period where the woman rode sidesaddle,
Hawaiian women wore long flowing riding skirts called "pa'u" which allowed them to straddle their horses.
The pa'u raiders also wear beautiful flowers leis. The horses are also adorned with flower leis.
Each island's pa'u rider wears a unique color and type of flower lei.
