Luton, Peace and Quiet!

The aircraft usually take off in this westerly direction.
As soon as they are airborne they have to do a steep “noise abatement turn” to port which takes them away from this road.

Port = Left, marked with a red light. (Some Port Wines are Red)
Starboard = Right, marked with a green light.

Ah! Reminds me of the days I spent living at home with my parents with the British Aerospace airfield behind the house. Very loud when they tested the jet engines in the hangers. One good thing though, I got to see Concorde take off and land at close quarters.

Regards,

Geoff.

I was told to remember that once you've drunk some RED PORT there's not much LEFT.
