Ground Ivy

Shaw Nature Reserve, Missouri

Not a native, but a kind of mint that has spread throughout the Ozarks and is commonly found near streams. This one is growing in the Meramec river flood plain. This is enlarged. The flowers are about 1/4 inch across.

I can vouch for how tiny these are; I have a serious ground ivy infestation in my yard. Excellent job getting these in focus and showing how profuse they can be. v
