Another old St Louis institution that died in the last part of the 20th century. Actually, I think this property was originally part of the Lemp brewery and was sold to ISCO as the Lemp business declined.

What was the old saying about St. Louis: "First in booze, first in shoes, and last in the American League"? (There used to be two professional baseball teams here: the Cardinals (NL) and the Browns (AL). The Browns moved to Baltimore and became the Orioles.)
