the Civic Arena (now called the mellon arena) does resemble the spaceship...
"Biznessmen" are seeking to demolish this amazing (retractable roof that opens in less than 3 minutes),
historic building to erect bland office buildings and build yet another pork-barrel sports arena.
It is and has been, for over 40 years, an important Pittsburgh landmark.

The "wind" argument of the last article is just specious BS.
Being inside with the roof retracted (and seeing it happen) is a marvelous event.
The writer even goes on to invoke the history of the Hill District (behind the Arena).
As if office buildings would be a nicer thing to see, blocking the view! Not!
