March 5, 2007

I apologize for the sporatic postings to this site. We have not been able to receive satellite signals nor reliable WIFI hotspots. This write-up is several days old. I will try to catch up with our current activities as internet access permits.

We had a pleasant two night stay at Shroud Cay.
The first day there we dinghied through the mangroves to the eastern shore of Shroud Cay. It was a beautiful pristine ride through Exumas National Park. We had to travel during high tide because the creeks through the mangroves dry up at low tide.

Jill diving off of a small iron-rock cliff.
We swam in a strong whirlpool near the small cut and visited Camp Driftwood.
Camp Driftwood is the highest ridge on the the cay. It was from this ridge that the authorities did their surveilance of the drug operation on Norman's Cay in the 1980's.

did I say float, of course it floats. I meant to say "hovers over the water" man I can be dinghy at times...
Guest 20-Mar-2007 03:21
Almost looks like the dinghy is floating over the water. Very nice pic, great depth of field.

I fear I am going to have to stop looking at your galleries until you return . . . I can't deal with this especially when we have the weather that we do =P

Incredible shots Dave! Glad to see you're having such a great time. It's 7 degrees here with a windchill below zero, so your shots warm my soul. \/
