The Seminole Indians, also were here long before the Europeans arrived. They lived peacefully with the white settlers until 1835. But in 1835, then president, Andrew Jackson ordered all Indians out of Florida. As a result the Seminoles declared war on the United States and destroyed everything owned by white men in Florida.
