September 8, 2006

This a complete picture of the subject of yesterday's Challenge.

It is called a Porta-Bote.
It folds the size and shape of a surfboard for easy storage.
The Porta-Bote is unsinkable, even if filled with water.
It is our backup to the more versitile inflatable dinghy (seen below).
I unfold the Porta-Bote for ready service during hurricane season.

Superb! I saw one of these at the state fair--looks like a great idea.

Unsinkable?? Wow........someone notify the mayor of New Orleans of this great little boat!! You always seem to increase my knowledge in some way, Dave. LOL

Fine shot, and I wouldn´t have guessed (once again).

I was about to tell you I'd never seen a boat quite like this, so thanks very much for the commentary. How fascinating!

Still laughing at Luther's comment and hopefully you won't have to use it this hurricane season

Very neat. It has quite a few seats considering it's origami construction!

I would have guessed wrong.

I wondered if it wasn't a collapsible dingy. However, it just didn't look like it had a enough substance at the bow or even particularly collapsible since the rivets along the edges that I expected to fold made it look fixed.

hehehe, the funny thing is I was going to say a porta-potty...well half a porta's better than no porta...isn't it :>)
