Sometimes things just don't go as planned.
Some of the grout at the base of our shower tiles was getting somewhat... well it looked...

...Let's just say the house is 18 years old and the grout looked bad.
Jill bought a tube of silicone adhesive caulking material
and we proceeded to pull out the offensive old grout.
Our first clue that this wasn't going to be simple
was water behind the grout. A lot of it.
We quit when the tiles started to collapase in front of wallboard that had absorbed water.
Our less than $10.00 job is now taking a bead our savings account.

Wow. Not good. I sure know the feeling, though. I've always been a do it yourselfer and sometimes......I hate to admit that it's more complicated than I thought and I'm just not qualified. I hate paying someone else.

It's never as simple as it looks. We have exactly the same problem....
