That time of the year is approaching. The Magnolia trees pods are starting ripen and the Pileated Woodpeckers can't resist their seeds. Every year from September though October the Pileated and Red Bellied Woodpeckers come to feast on these seed pods. Sadly, I've yet to get the picture that has really made me happy. Maybe this will be my lucky year. In the mean time, here's a few shots from today. It appears to be a young Female. Hopefully the larger birds will be appearing in a week or two.
