Scientific name: Columbina cruziana (Prevost, 1842).
Two characteristics of this bird are: its yellow basal-half and black external-half bill; and its cooing very similar to a frog.
Distribution: Found in arid to semi-humid areas such as dry deciduous woodlands, open hilly areas, open agricultural lands. Also found in suburban gardens and parks along the Pacific coast
of South America from southern Ecuador to northern Chile and along the entire length of the Peruvian coast.
