BNSF 4854 West

County Road 170, east of Perry, Oklahoma

BNSF Dash 9-44CW #4854 and FURX (ex-BNSF) SD40-2 #7257 with container train approaching Black Bear.

Located 3.5 kilometes (2-1/4 miles) west of here, Black Bear is where the Avard Subdivision (Tulsa to Avard) crosses the Red Rock Subdivision (Arkansas City to Gainesville). With approximately 45 to 65 trains per day, it is easily one of the busiest railroad locations in Oklahoma. However, be aware, railfans are not welcome and subject to arrest.

The Red Rock Subdivision is named for the town located about 13 kilometes (8 miles) north of here.
