Well Judged

Thursday 11th August - Day 236

Today was the day of the Okehampton Show - a sort of agricultural fair. All towns of any size in the South West seem to have these - ours always falls on the second Thursday in August.

Lots of farm animal competitions - very much like beauty contests! I like watching small doses of all these competitions because it is all taken so seriously by those invloved - quite rightly! The judging does get very intense, and whatever timetable there is is thrown out of the window early on!

See more in my Okehampton Show gallery

There is a quest - find all the hidden Lee's! Usual prize for the winner :)

Brisbane's Exhibition, commonly known as " The Ekka" is on at present too. That's a good looking fleece.

Very serious stuff, this competition. I would love to have her curls. Hope she won.

We have these in the States also. Its a big deal for those who show the livestock. I like the sense of intensity here.

Reminds me of the dog shows I attended a few years ago.
Very nice!

Went to the Surrey show this year - fascinating watching the judging going on.
This shot captures the atmosphere well.

That is certainly a different type of picture. I like this, because it is not what you expect to see every day.
