Moorland Colours in August

Sunday 7th August - Day 232

Away from the hustle and bustle of yesterday mornings excitment, I took advantage of the gorgeous moorland colours that are present at the moment - all the gorse seems alive with these purple and yellow flowers.

For those who asked, Morris Men are a a remnant of "pre-Christian druidical fertility rites".... I leave the rest to your imagination!!!

I love the contrast of the blue sky against the rich green. This almost appears like a painting to me. Some modern display. Great shot.
