Filby Parish Church

Sunday 3rd April 2005 - Day 106

Filby Parish Church

Today I went on a journey back in time. My grandfather, Wilfred Ward was born in Filby, Norfolk in 1908. I’ve never visited the place, and it occurred to me that I wasn’t that far away. There is actually little there, and as I didn’t have what little notes I have on that side of the family, I couldn’t make much progress in any genealogical research. I did find some gravestones for that name, in both Filby and Mautby churches… but it is a common name!

Somehow I missed this beautiful photo. Try the Internet for geneaology--there are many great sites. I found cousins that we had been looking for for about 90 years--not me, but family before me--but I found them on the Internet and have had great times with them since. One is in Massachusetts and one is in California.
