Scanning the small print

Thursday 3rd March 2005 - Day 75

At one point today I felt it was one of those days that would never end... not because of any one great difficulty, but rather a succession of smaller ones - this all culminated with not returning home until gone 6 pm (late for me!) and urgently needing food! Tomorrow will be much better - not only can I feel it, but I am having a day off!!!!!

I've tried to capture my thought processes before I head of out - maybe I'll do that tomorrow if the weather isnt too bad. I do need the glasses to read the map properly at home, and Thurlows is - to me - a pretty comprehensive guide to Dartmoor. For instance, I use it as the initial source of information or locations of some of the places I have visited for my PaD. As for the GPS, I admit I rarely use it here - I often carry it though, especially if I am walking in the hills.

Oh - the town on the map - top middle - is Okehampton, where I live. And the empty space (other than the contour lines) around my glasses is the northern edge of Dartmoor.

I'll have to go to your next few entries to find out if you got some good photos from this trip.

I've decided I am going to start taking my GPS with me when I travel. No problems getting lost last time I was in San Francisco, due to Jeanne's leadership, but on the previous trip I parked my car downtown and then couldn't find it!

Dartmoor...so Tolkien sounding. I hope you're having a great day off and I'm looking forward to the images you will capture. Nice composition on this image.

This reminds me on map reading in basic, which was sooo boring. Nice picture though, just bad memories on my part. I got an entire troop lost which I was supposed to lead lol. I guess..I need more practice.

Always good to have a GPS, and your glasses, too, of course. Nice and different photo.
