Platter

Sunday 9th January 2005 - Day 22

Another miserably wet day outside, and I'm up to my elbows in card and sticky stuff... there is a print competition at my camera club tomorrow night and I was preparing them.

So what for a PaD today? Well, there is this platter, made at Poole Pottery . They are renowned for their somewhat unique decorative work, usually in very limited editions. Now, the platter is about 20 inch/51 cm diameter!, so I had been musing on a suitable setting for it. What other problems, it is highly glazed, so there was a need to cut down on the reflections, which meant blocking out a lot of the light!.

I hope that I have been able to capture the subtle differences in colours and delicate design well.

Oh, I like this Lee... man I wish I could expose an image for 20+seconds and have it come out as clean as this. What I like most about this is the deep color and excellent framing. Well done.

You did well to avoid reflections, nice colour saturation.

I agree with Coleen. Very nice colors. I appreciate artwork so much. I myself stitch and that is my type of art. Amazing what hands can do.
