Those Old Prison Walls

Deer Lodge, Montana

The oldest existing structure is the massive sandstone wall built with convict labour and locally
quarried stone. The wall is twenty-four feet high, three feet thick at the top and four and a half
feet thick at the bottom. The wall extends four feet underground. No inmate was ever successful at
tunneling under the wall, although a few have tried.

It was worth to take that picture as if being one inmate itself.
