Leongatha, Victoria.
Leongatha Memorial Hall was built 1925/26 and officially opened in May 1926, it is situated in a commanding position in the centre of town on the corners of McCartin street and Michael Place, and to this day stands proud as a historically significant landmark.
‘The meeting place’ for the people, was built as a tribute to those who gave service for their country during the 1st World War. A statue of the “Winged Victory” carrying a palm frond and sword adorns the highest point.
Over the past ninety years it has continually played host to community events supporting worthy charitable causes.
