Malmsbury Racecourse Hotel Ruin

Built in 1860, the Racecourse Hotel was originally run by James Thornton and thrived on the trade coming from the nearby Malmsbury Racecourse.
A record indicates that it was burnt out in 1869 and rebuilt. In 1893 the Racecourse Hotel was one of six hotels closed by “local option”.It has since been allowed to become a ruin. This is all that remains.

Beautiful rich color and great light and the composition particularly in the larger picture is excellent. A pretty sad state of affairs, though. V.
