This engraving on the wall of the museum shows a captured Slave chain. These poor unfortunates were probably captured and traded by other West Africans and then force-marched from the inland trading posts to the "holding facilities" on the coast by slavers. The slavers in turn sell on the new slaves to agents of the slave ships for transportation across the middle passage to Brazil or across to the Caribbean & southern coastal plantations of what would become the USA.
