While at the National Zoo yesterday we watched this apparently juvenile orangutan cross the ropes over the zoo to get to the "Think Tank" building. When it got there, it found itself locked out by the two adults inside the display.
A mature male inside threw a large barrel at the door and generally made it known that the youngster was not welcomed at this time. Then the male and a female proceeded to perform the amazingly human-like, gentle and relaxed rendition of the "Oran-ga Sutra" for us. The folks at the National Zoo really need to have a Barry White CD for these moments at the Think Tank...
