We stayed overnight in Pinedale Saturday night and after a quick breakfast the next morning we were on our way to the Elkhart trailhead (30 minute drive). The first part of the trail is mostly flat and an easy going walk through the woods. There were a few meadows in which we had glimpses of the mountains that awaited us, but it wasn't until Photographer's Point at five miles in that we got a proper view. We stopped to admire the mountains and take a short break.
