After the Little Beehive we descended back to Lake Agnes, circled the lake, and climbed the Big Beehive. We stopped to take in the views then continued along the way to the Plain of Six Glaciers. Although we never made it.
Along the way Steve slipped on the wet trail and caught himself with his left hand. He didn't completely fall (Norah was napping and didn't even wake up), but he had cut his finger on a sharp rock. I knew it was serious when Steve, Mr.-I-never-go-to-the-doctor-and-have-the-high-deductible-insurance-plan, said he had to go to a doctor. We wrapped his finger with a bandana and Steve hiked the 2.5 miles back to Lake Louise with his hand above his head. Steve saw a doctor at the Lake Louise clinic and got five stitches. The doctor said he was very lucky that for such a deep cut he didn't hurt a tendon or nerve. Happy to report that our experience with the Canadian heath care system was very positive and Steve's finger has healed fine.
