Overall our trip was good for bear sightings; we saw ten total (five grizzly and five black). We had one black bear spend the good part of a day in the woods behind our cabin in Cooke City. Watching a bear from your cabin is definitely preferable to watching a grizzly and her cubs on the trail you are hiking, which would happen to us later in Glacier National Park.
