Park Güell was designed by the famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí and built in the years 1900 to 1914. It was originally intended as
part of a residential garden community. This never came to pass, and Parque Güell was eventually sold to the city of Barcelona.
Today Parque Güell remains a public park and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Works of Antoni Gaudí".
