Atlantic Puffin #13

This puffin may have been calling, but I am not certain. In any event, puffins make loud growling calls usually but not always
from underground. They sound like a muffled chainsaw. They can be heard by simply clicking on the link below.

Great timing to get that open bill/beak. And what a strange call they have! Creepy sound...thought at first it was a squeaky door, till the chainsaw kicked in! Fascinating birds...and this is a beautiful shot, Jay. I've had my Puffin fix for the night :) V~

They sure sing in a deep bass. How unique and interesting. I listened to a couple of other sites that had their sound too. This is a wonderful detailed shot of this beautiful bird. He looks like he's singing. \/

Great shot with these sharp details Jay. I like the smooth bokeh as well. "V" Muffled chainsaw is a very good description of this unique call the puffins make.
