On Becoming A Woodswoman

A friend of mine owns this chain saw and since I am curious about tools, he said "why don't you take the chain off so I can sharpen it" so I did. What he didn't tell me was there would be a tons of sawdust packed in there in all the crevices.
Someday I may get up enough nerve to actually fell a small tree with it but I'm not at that point yet.
The picture is so I can get it back on correctly :-)

Cool shot and great learning! Try a very light saw (ask another woman) when you try out a chain saw -- it will make all the difference in the world. And be sure to wear protective gear when you do too like helmut, ear and eye protection, chaps and steel toe boots.. Then go to it, girl. It is very empowering! I used to coordinate a program, called Women and the Woods, teaching Maine women how to manage their wood lots to meet their objectives (and there can be many form wildlife mgmnt to producing your own firewood). We often had workshops to teach women how to use a chainsaw. Check with your state's Cooperative Extension or with your Forestry Service. Great stuff!

Great idea! I can't count the number of times I took something apart and couldn't get it back together again. A photo sure would have helped!! :)
