Huh?

This sign has "bugged" me ever since it was put up a couple of years ago.
It's at the Braddock Bay Hawkwatch location and talks about the bird of prey flights over the area during migration.
But "why" an image of a Great Blue Heron on this sign? I don't get it...

And is the heron also up to his neck in water or am I seeing things?

Interesting info and I agree with you why they put on a heron. :-)

I guess that's one of those raptor herons. (Although I did witness in California Blue Herons stalking ground squirrels.)

Weird...maybe somebody thought the heron was a hawk....yeah, most of the guys that do this don't have a clue of what is what. Gotta agree with coleen!

Must be the only clip art the graphic artist had ;-)

I thought the same thing! What can you expect from the government. They don't know a hawk from an egret from a sparrow.

The government must have been involved. Good catch.

Yep, that's something that would 'bug' the heck of out me too. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense...but what does anymore. :)

That is very odd! The Great Blue isn't a a bird of prey.
