Adoption Event

September Challenge: "In 'Your' Life"

One of the things in my life since December is volunteering with "Friends of the New Haven Animal Shelter." The "Friends" (yellow shirt or yellow button" show dogs and cats from the shelter to prospective adopters. We set up a table and mats in a shopping area. We are fortunate when the North Shore Animal League sends their van which can hold the dogs and cats. One side opens up and you can see some of the 5 dogs and 8 cats we brought on Saturday.
We got applications for two dogs (including little Jodi) and two cats!

Good for you; what a great idea to take the animals to the people.

A very worthwhile cause for which to volunteer your time! I adopted my cat Miles from a local shelter two years ago...he's been a great addition to my life.

We just recently adopted a rescue pug. She was 2 years old, lived in a cage at a puppy mill and was used for breeding.
Hooray for your volunteer work! My heart goes out to all of those animals! When will people start being responsible for their pets? There are far too many animals euthanized. Hope they all can find loving homes!
