20100103 - Snow Rose

MonoMonth

I've been to Sis's house today, she had some Chrimble roses that were getting a bit tired, so I borrowed one and lobbed it into her snowy back yard :o)

The ambient is set to overexpose and there are two flashguns backlighting it, also set to overexpose (by 2 stops I think), lots and lots and lots of light!

This is so beautiful... love the high key. It seemed to survive being lobbed into the snowy backyard very nicely :)

Wonderful lighting. Really isolates subject.

Yes, you've done a great job here, strong diagonal comp, all that light has brought all the details into the head of the rose (where it should be).. Maybe one tiny flaw! Where the head of the rose meets the stem, that area has blown out dislocating the subject from its root (no pun intended) Bringing out that leaf where they join a little to make some more obvious connection may help... Still a great shot though V
Doug Cruden03-Jan-2010 22:43
Yerp, that works for me! Excellent control of all that light, well done sir!
