Consecrated in 1592, Chiesa del Santissimo Redentore (Church of the Most Holy Redeemer) was built in thanksgiving for delivering Venice from a major outbreak of the plague in 1575-76.
It was designed by the architect Andrea Palladio with a facade like a classic Greek temple.
