The water level is low here at the boat channel and will be till
Spring runoff swells the rivers feeding the lake. Earlier this
year the water was high enough to completely submerge the breakwater
seen to the right, including the white poles.

To warn boaters of the underwater danger
the logs chained to the channel marker were installed along the
length of the breakwater.
