Electro-Controls Premiere

Christie Lites Toronto museum

Electro-Controls Premiere It was late 80's before EC was bought by Strand.

It was a wrap-around U-shaped desk with two "heads-up" displays. The monitors were recessed in front of the desk and there were two pieces of smoked glass at a 45 degree angle so you could see the stage and the displays at the same time by looking through the glass. The compartment to the left underneath housed the 2 8088 PC's that drove everything.

Communication to the dimmers was the goofy ECMUX protocol where it actually stored the soft-patch in the dimmers instead of the console.
