Moon and Saturn

Franklin, Ohio

This image gives a nice comparison of the relative size of these two objects as viewed from the earth. This is a two exposure composite. The first image was exposed for the moon and the second was exposed for Saturn. The two images were then merged in Photoshop.

Imaging Scope: Celestron C6 SCT with f/6.3 focal reducer
Mount: Celestron CG5-GT
Camera: Nikon D70, 1/320 second exposure on the moon; 30 second exposure for Saturn
Processing in Photoshop

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Wow, at the same exposure? Would make a stunning poster.
