Nikon D70 50mm F/1.4-D
1/200s F/1.4

Shot hand held in available light. Many people say this lens is "quite soft" wide open, but I rarely see examples of this softness, which would not mean anythng anyway.

Judge for yourself... quite soft? quite sharp? sharp enough?

This is a very challenging lens to shoot wide open but in my opinion it is at least very acceptably sharp when everything comes together.

To be completely honest with you I can't say I think this is very sharp. I've shot much more sharper with D100 +50Mm F1.8.. however.. yesterday I ordered an 50Mm F1.4D so I really hope I will see a difference for myself, maybe it's just this picture that isn't a 100% sharp, there's so many things that counts.

No disrespect or anything, I just searched for 50Mm 1.4-pictures.. and you asked in the photo-commentary what we think.

Cheers!
