These old buildings represent what's left of what used to be a RCMP posting on the south shore of Devon Island on Lancaster Sound. Whole families were posted here. Could you imagine telling your spouse that work was sending you to this location? The buildings have been abandoned since the middles of the last century. During the Op there was a RCMP grave restoration here that garnished national headlines. Two RCMP officers are buried here and their graves are kept in presentable condition out of respect for their service. The mission touched many who were present.
