Another Light Painting Sample

Highlands County, Florida

While taking a break from doing my exams, decided to play. :-)

Set up my camera on tripod, plugged in the remote shutter control and went and grabbed a wooden clothespin.
A friend from astro group that I belong to had given me this tip a while ago for astro images. Works great!

Grabbed my red LED light, pushed the button on the remote, placed clothespin on it to hold it open, then set about trying to sign my name in the air.
After 10 tries of missing the crossing of the 'T', I finally nailed it.

Downloaded and opened it for editing in PhotoshopCS.
First thing I did, was reverse image horizontally.
Nope, I don't know how to sign my name in the air backwards. ;-)

Lots of noise and hot/cold pixels to be removed, decided to manipulate instead of removing for the next hour.

Made duplicate layer, set it to multiply, then used NeatImage plugin to remove more noise.
What was left, I could live with.

Next time I will probably go with higher f-stop setting, instead of the lowest.

Since I didn't want to have to try to finagle with focus, I used the camera set to infinity focus. White balance was set to daylight, and bulb mode was used.

It may not be the greatest, but I had fun!
