Hotel Bentley has been the premier hotel in central Louisiana since it opened in 1908.

During World War II many of the US general staff stayed at the Bentley while planning and rehearsing the invasion of Normandy.

The hotel suffered a spell of being forgotten but in the 1990's was refurbished and recently has changed ownership again, the new owners having plans to have not only the hotel but condimuniums also
