NATURE'S CAMOUFLAGE - ISO 800

A Fence Lizard (Sceloporus undulatus), the only lizard in North Carolina that has scales, rather than smooth skin. This little guy (about 4", nose to tail) was trying to hide in some rocks around our house. Taken with a Nikon 105mm VR macro lens. Post-processing in PhotoShop Elements and Noise Ninja.

I've seen these recently too, but haven't gotten an image nearly as spectacular as this one. I wish I knew what this creature was called. Quite beautiful, isn't it?
