Very nice shot - great color and composition. What really appeals to me is the ambiguity of scale. Well done.

Beautiful image- reminds me of the Sand dunes close to my home in Arizona. They have use that area for many movies.

great composition, texture and lighting neil. if i'd been there i might have wanted to take my bucket and spade with me and build a sandcastle... ;)

superb image Neil! - wonderful composition. the texture/light on the windblown sand is a bonus, after first being drawn in by the structure/high contrast of the dune itself - what a place to watch the sun go down. adrianox

The light, the curve, the structure, the composition etc. Everything works in this picture. Beautiful in every aspect. Congratulations!

Thanks guys, the dunes were located in Fraser Island, Australia and were a bit of a trek. It was well worth it though and I spent a couple of hours there watching the sun go down.

Neil,
absolutely stunning pic, how long had you to wait in order to have this light only just catching the top the little sand waves.

Amazing how mother nature can create such great shapes using only 2 basic elements : sand and wind. No two are the same. This here is one of the finest captures I've seen.
