GReat pic Adrianox. This has terrific feel to it and needs a few takes to see what,s going on.THe other one, without people, is more compelling and draws me in deeper.
Either one works , with different impact.

love the composition on this shoot- you can feel yourself moving up the stairwell. Wonderful job.

adrianox, I think it would have been tempting to use the shot without the people -- but this one draws your eye in as well. I like the way it looks like a seashell with the perfect spiral!

g'day Niamh - you are correct it's a bit soft - i did take heaps of pics top & bottom - but because of extreme low light (and no AS ;-), i only got two keepers. the other keeper i rested on the bottom handrail pillar - and is much sharper - but no people..
heres a link to it (should have exif also ;-)http://www.pbase.com/image/30200151

Hi, was this taken before or after climbing all those stairs?! Reason I ask is that the focus looks a little soft and I wondered whether your muscles were trembling from the effort! ;) Seriously though, this is a very appealing image - very nice lighting and I like the motion blur on the child. Can we see another of the view from the top? :)

Hi Adrianox,

This reminds me of the perfect proportions of the Nautilus. Great atmosphere. Definitely a winner !

Adrian,
I have a funny feeling this picture is to this gallery what Elsa's was to CIX Exhibition. There are so many clues, yet so much to wonder about. Is it natural, is it man-made, are we looking up, are we looking down??? The questions abound... This is truly a photo that captures your imagination.

Hi Adrian,

I can only agree with the other comments. This is a very good image. I especially like how the motion of the two people gives life to, and makes even better, an image that would have been great also without them.

Hi Adrianox,
very nice composition and that perfect cover of the lamp on the wall with the arm of the passant. Well done.

Someone must have deleted my comment...so here it goes again (well, more or less)

Great shot, which transcend the line between natural and man-made for me. At first glance it looks we are looking inside a shell, and then the boy going down the stairs and the details tells you what it is really. The twirling leading line is pleasantly disorienting and the warm tones give the shot a "cozy" atmosphere. This one will definitely be in my shortlist

Hi Adrianox,
The Golden Rule is just overwhelming here, a classic spiral theme, perfectly composed. I also like the transition of soft colours and light you have captured.
